State Of The World's Sanitation

The new State of the World's Sanitation report by WHO and UNICEF is an urgent call to transform sanitation for better health, environments, economies and societies. The publication emphasizes that the world is alarmingly off-track to deliver sanitation for all by 2030 and that despite progress in global sanitation coverage in recent years, billions of people use sanitation services that leave human waste untreated, threatening human and environmental health. The report imagines a future without progress in sanitation and calls for investment in the five key accelerators laid out in the UN-Water SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework: governance, financing, capacity development, data and information, and innovation.
