Local plumbers deliver better water and sanitation in rural Philippines

More than 100 households and 1,600 schoolchildren now have better access to safe water in Maguindanao, Philippines, thanks to an International Labour Organization (ILO) and Government of Japan project that trained local residents in construction and plumbing. Households now have more water for sanitation and hygiene. And in the schools, children and teachers can more conveniently drink water, go to the toilet and wash hands because of the on-site water supply.
