Generating awareness among little kids of Govt. Schools on Toilet Use
Society for All Round Development (SARD) with support of Water Aid India is implementing WASH in Schools project in Primary Schools of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), New Delhi, India; Under this project various innovative interventions (like WASH brigade, WASH Ambassadors, WASH modules, WASH App, WASH quiz etc) are used to educate and sensitize students of Primary Classes on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene issues through various innovative interventions . On the occasion of World Toilet Day, SARD has organized a campaign for 10 days in which awareness activities were conducted in primary schools of SDMC, where professional Street Theater teams performed plays on various components related Toilet use and its benefits. Quiz on ‘Sanitation and Hygiene’ were organized in all schools during assembly where the students participated and got prizes. Poster competition was also organized, where ‘Parents and Children’ together made beautiful posters on ‘Benefits of using toilet for environment and good health’. Parents were very happy to take part in such activity where they were able to express their views on sanitation through paintings. Total 1500 school kids and about 100 parents benefited from both the events.
