GLAAS 2022: Accelerating progress on sanitation and drinking-water

The world is off track to meet SDG 6 - to ensure water and sanitation for all by 2030. Governments and the international community must accelerate change, but how? Where are the gaps in financing, human resources and policy? Who is being left behind? What are the success stories we can scale up?

The 2022 edition of the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS), launching in December 2022, compiles new data on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) from 121 countries and 23 external support agencies.

The report, created by a specialist team at the World Health Organization, highlights opportunities to accelerate progress in key WASH areas that positively impact the quality and sustainability of WASH services and our resilience to disease outbreaks and climate change.
