A period should never get in the way of progress

The Toilet Board Coalition (TBC) believes the fastest way to solve the sanitation crisis is to turn it into an economic opportunity, led by local-market entrepreneurs, guided by multinational corporation mentors.

Through its world-renowned Accelerator, the TBC provides business model design,
corporate mentorship and access to investment to sanitation economy entrepreneurs serving low-income markets.

In this impact story, personal care company Kimberly-Clark mentors Toilet Integration Bus (Ti Bus) – a sanitation business based in India run by women, for women.
Together, the two companies share the goal of improving women’s health and livelihoods by refurbishing buses into sanitation facilities and educational spaces on feminine hygiene, and providing feminine hygiene products.

"The Accelerator was extremely valuable,” says Ulka Sadalkar of Ti Bus. “Seeing how our mentors approached our business model, and the long-term planning and perspective that brought – not to mention the skills and experience around branding and marketing. To have access to these inspirational brains has been transformational for us”.
